Rain Drops Keep Falling on My Head

I used Fig Tree Threads Raindrops pattern, though you could make a cape with sleeves with Jessica of Me Sew Crazy's tutorial. This was my first time sewing with cotton laminate (this one, actually) and I didn't have any trouble except for not loving the smell of it (which has since mostly worn off). I used a fairly new needle and my walking foot, just in case. The cape is fully lined with this polka dot fabric Ansley picked. This was also my first time using a fabric button kit. It was totally easy; I don't know why I waited so long to try it. I'm gonna stock up on them when if I have extra JoAnn coupons.

(Ansley is wearing the cape over her very worn and loved and wrinkled Snow White Dress).

Linking up with Melly Sews (and Stacy of Boy, Oh Boy, Oh Boy!)'s Sew in Tune series.

  1. I love it. Great fabric, and a great little cape.

  2. Oh so you're a seamstress, huh? I have serious envy, I would love to be the crafty, sew-er type, but alas, it will never happen, it's just not in the cards for me. That first pic is so sweet of your little girl. And excellent job on the cute cape, so very impressive.
