I was extremely lucky to test her newest pattern, the Tallinn Sweater. I was immediately drawn to the asymmetric crossover bodice and the cowl option. But I was a turtleneck hater because they make me claustrophobic. Then Tami posted hers and Adrianna said it was a slightly looser turtleneck and I had to give it a try. Then I wore it for four days straight and I was cozy and less mad at the cold winter wind and I actually forgot I was wearing a turtleneck. It is so good.
(all pictures by my 7.5 year old)
(I'm also wearing the world's best leggings- the sloan leggings)
This is the first version. (The final version has a little more ease through the bust and the sleeves are not symmetric). I used a textured liverpool from LA Finch Fabrics that I picked up after winning a blogiversary giveaway from the very talented Fleurine. (Thanks so much Fleurine!!!!) (side note- you can TEXT LA Finch Fabrics! They answered my questions about the recovery of jegging fabric and helped with a shipping code while I was laying in bed cuddling Lisbon. LIFE CHANGING. Not sponsored.) This was my first time sewing with liverpool. It was kind of shifty when cutting so I used a ridiculous amount of wonder clips and my walking foot, which made a huge difference. I bought this fabric before I started culling through my wardrobe and trying to unify my color scheme and maximize my wardrobe's potential, so while it doesn't match my new vision I am using The Stash which is also an admirable goal, right? Anyway, I don't love the texture of it (but I'm weird and it said textured in the description so there's that) but I love the spongy/foamy feel and how it looks in contrast to the snow!

This is the final version, made in a microfleece from Joann Fabric that has been in The Stash for a while. Ansley is really jealous of it. I made a size L for both, according to my measurements. The fit is perfect. The sleeves on this one feel slimmer than the first one but I'm sure that's fabric related.

This pattern deserves jazz hands.
