Watering the Garden

Ansley likes to "help" Tyrone water our garden by sticking her hands in the water while he's watering. Last night I peeked out the window to see this:

Tortilla de patata with strawberries and fresh cream. The eggs in the tortilla came from our chickens.

Designed and built by my husband! I helped by keeping Ansley out of trouble. :) The lattice can be removed if we decide we don't want it permanently. It will stay up this year so the peas have somewhere to climb.

A Princess Can Never Have Too Many Dresses

I had to make another one! You can too, just follow these great directions. :)

It was super windy and she tried so hard not to blow away.

Cranberry Salad

Photobucket

I got this amazing recipe from my mother in law. :)

In a food processor, grind one cleaned bag of cranberries (not the bag of course). Place in a container with 1 1/2 cups crushed pineapple and 1 cup sugar or less. Soak overnight. Drain well. Add 3 large chopped apples, 2 cups marshmallows, grapes, and one pint fresh whipped cream. Crushed walnuts or pecans optional.

I made a fourth of July version by adding blueberries and leaving some white swirls of whipped cream. I also added nectarines for the first time, b/c we had them, and loved it!

Fun in the Sundress Simple Raglan Style

Photobucket

I found this darling dress from Kalleen At Second Street via icandyhandmade and it got fast tracked to the top of my to sew list. The timing was perfect b/c I was trying to figure out how to make a sleeve like this. Kalleen's method worked perfectly!

I do have a bit of adjusting to do to the bodice pattern but that's okay. I used a hand me down dress to make the pattern.

I actually made a decent practice button hole but the real one isn't as pretty. Luckily the giant button covers it up. ha.

Thanks ladies for a fun sundress! It's certainly hot enough that we did our photo shoot indoors. Yes, she does work for chocolate chips.
