Our favorite part about Art Gallery knits is how soft they are! They feel so wonderful to wear and are lovely to sew. I used a ball point needle and did all of the sewing on my Bernina 801. I used my serger on the very bottom raw edges because it gives them hem just a little more weight. This fabric will be so comfortable all year long! Art Gallery PURE solids would also make wonderful tops and blouses, lightweight hoodies, and warmer weather weight joggers. There are so many beautiful colors in the collection too!
We picked the Jalie Bella, a tried and true pattern, for maximum comfort and twirl. These dresses are one size up from their measurements because both girls are growing and I wanted them to be able to wear their new dresses for longer than a few months. I didn't alter the neckline on Lisbon's (though I might have used 3/8 inch elastic in the neck instead of 1/4 inch). I adjusted Ansley's per her request. The back neckline is higher and the front is a little lower than the original pattern. I opted to topstitch the princess seams on Lisbon's but it didn't really make much of a difference visually so I skipped the princess seam topstitching on Ansley's.

Thanks for stopping by!!
I love your dresses! I totally get the sizing up and purposely made the sleeves and hem of the coat I made a bit longer so they can get a lot of good wear out of it!
