Ansley and I decided she and one of her other friends needed matching dresses. The pattern (Simplicity 0351a) was on display at Joann's and it goes up to a size 8, which is perfect for her friend. I wanted to see if the bodice was more fitted that my other favorite pattern (Simplicity 5695, seen here and here and other places on my blog) and it was! :) So the next question is should I leave the skirt as is (with the gathers in the front and back and the nice a line shape) or make a circle skirt on Ansley's next dress? I'm making her a Snow White version for her birthday(!) found via pinterest from mykidsdrawers' etsy shop. (and I just realized I bought the same exact fabric for the sleeves. I looked at a couple of stores for blue and red stripes and this was the closest that I found).
Ansley looks so cute in her dress. I like the gathers in the front of the skirt, but a circle skirt would probably have more twirl ability...which is what every princess needs right? Beautiful pictures of the tulips!
ReplyDeletewhat a doll. so adorable and I love her pick-tales!
ReplyDeleteI think the dress turned out darling, but your daughter is the real show stopper. She's so flippin' cute. I'm looking forward to seeing the Snow White gown.
ReplyDeleteAdorable! And those tulips are just beautiful! =)

Is Ansley a fan of flowers like tulips?
ReplyDeleteI really love the dresses you have made with this pattern! So very cute! Is there another number on the pattern inside the envelope? I would love to try the pattern, but I can't find it anywhere. When they send the patterns out for display they use numbers like that on the outside of the envelope but usually the inside has another number.
