Faux Chenille Blanket

Photobucket

I am in LOVE with this blanket!! It was totally worth the hours of sewing and the blister from the hours of cutting. I'm wishing I bought more of this car fabric, since I can't find it at Joann's anymore. Oh well, at least I'm whittling down my fabric stash.

"It's so fluffy I could die!" (have you seen that movie? Love it).

I followed these two tutorials. Initially I cut all but the bottom layer, as instructed.

But a few rows in I decided I didn't like the look of the unprinted side of the car flannel so I left the bottom two layers (the car flannel and the blue) and think it's perfect.

The only thing that will make this blanket better is cuddling my new nephew in it! (he's not here yet).

Craters of the Moon

On our way back from Ketchum, we stopped by Craters of the Moon. We thought it would be kind of funny if Ansley told her friends that we went on vacation to the moon, but quickly realized she wouldn't believe us b/c she knows you have to take a rocket to the moon and we were clearly not in a rocket.

So glad we hiked this cone. The pamphlet said it was a strenuous half mile hike. We had initially decided to only pick to get out at one accessible spot (which you will see later) that didn't turn out to be that interesting.

Reminiscent of the picture at White Sands

I was surprised to see a tree growing up here.

Dinner in Sun Valley

What a charming place! I loved all of the flowers. Dinner was pretty good too.
